  2. Pachelbel’s Canon, byname of Canon and Gigue in D Major, musical work for three violins and ground bass (basso continuo) by German composer Johann Pachelbel, admired for its serene yet joyful character. It is Pachelbel’s best-known composition and one of the most widely performed pieces of Baroque music.

  6. An excellent baroque CD with selections by Bach, Handel, Corelli, Vivaldi, Purcell and more from a fine chamber orchestra. My favorites are Adagio by Albinoni and Pachelbel's Canon. This is good music to listen to when you're writing reviews/5(43).
  7. Jan 01,  · the baroque rendition is great. it is the quality of the cd that is lacking. the first track, pachebel's canon in d, is a poor quality recording. at times the audio is so poor that it is inaudible. if i want to hear it, i must turn it up to 35 then down to /5(35).
  8. Find Georg Philipp Telemann credit information on AllMusic. A remarkably prolific, skillful, and forward-thinking German composer, who wrote many sacred and secular vocal works as well as orchestral, chamber, and keyboard music.
